About Bill Truslow
Bill Truslow has been working in commercial photography for nearly three decades. His work has brought him all over the world photographing portraits, advertising campaigns, and editorial images for global organizations and small, local businesses alike.
Born in Richmond, Virginia and originally trained as an architect Bill decided to pursue his true passion at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. After working for several years in Los Angeles he returned to the coast of New England and settled with his wife in Rye, New Hampshire. Starting out with a studio in Portsmouth’s famed “Button Factory” he later moved down the street to his current 2,500 square foot space in Portsmouth’s West End.
With his incomparable eye and technical expertise Bill’s clients trust him to create compelling photographs, whether the focus is a group of Corporate CEOs, a team of doctors in the midst of a lift-saving surgery, or workers at an industrial site in the mountains of Turkey . His easy-going determination helps him relax even his most nervous subjects while delivering polished, poignant pictures under tight deadlines.
Fueled as much by his own innate curiosity as the lattes he’s known for brewing with his in-studio espresso machine, Bill doesn’t just understand the big impact imagery can play in his client’s story, he revels in it. Every client. Every time.
Located an hour north of Boston in Portsmouth’s up and coming West End Arts District, the brick mill building housing Bill Truslow Photography’s 2,500 square foot studio has a rich history. Once part of Portsmouth’s landmark “Button Factory” the space was originally used to produce tufted buttons for the Morley Button Company. The building has been through many iterations, most recently an offset printing plant before being repurposed into the open photography space it is now.
Housing a main shooting area, as well as offices and a digital darkroom, the studio at 959 Islington Street has been home to Bill’s operations since 2004. Fully equipped with a full array of professional photography equipment we’re easily able to accommodate the needs of our clients, whether it’s product photography or a series of portraits of a corporate leadership team.
Working as a professional photographer for over thirty years, Bill’s expertise has been engaged by myriad businesses and organizations in the Boston area, New England, and world wide. From corporate photography, to industrial photography, to healthcare photography, Bill has been asked to lend his creative vision to the advertising and identity imagery at the heart of his client’s brands.
